Zechbauer's Royales line is growing again! With the Maduro I, we launched the Maduro series. A series that will amaze aficionados with its delicately sweet wrapper.

Maduro I – a real Gordos

The Maduro I comes in gordo format: 125 mm in Length and a ring gauge of 55. The look alone is a stunner. The color of the wrapper can be classified between "Colorado Maduro" and "Maduro". Wrapper, binder and filling come from Costa Rica – the home of the Royales.

The aroma: coffee & chocolate

Even the cold smell makes you curious for more: fresh coffee beans and chocolate – a rich aroma. The first puffs reveal a significant amount of black pepper, complemented by the chocolaty aspects of the maduro wrapper. In the course of this, impressions of leather and cedar wood are added, the cigar becomes more full-bodied – a wonderfully pleasant interplay of sweetness and spice. Subtle notes of walnut wood and a mineral spiciness appear later.

Conclusion on "Royales Maduro I"

The Maduro I is a cigar that increases in intensity from incendiary to filing. It is versatile, but not chaotic, which speaks for the quality of the tobaccos used. Of course you can smoke them right away, but you can also put them in the humidor for a year.

Smoke duration

With a smoking time of 65 to 70 minutes, this cigar provides enough time to enjoy. The burn is accurate.

Pairing recommendation

We recommend black coffee with this cigar, as the bitter substances in the coffee and the "spiciness" of the Gordos can take care of themselves and the sweetness of the cigar can thus come into its own.
