The "Le Hoyo de San Juan" was introduced in 2014 to great success. After that, the "Le Hoyo de Rio Seco" is now the second format in the "Le Hoyo" line from the traditional manufacturer "Hoyo de Monterrey".

With the inroduction of the "Le Hoyo de San Juan", the origin of the tobaccos was put front and centre for the first. The filling consisted of Ligero, Seco and Volado tobaccos. And Habanos S.A. exclusively chose tobaccos from the renowned Vuelta Abajo in San Juan y Martinez. A rare honour seeing as the name of that place of origin is legally protected. Therein lies the plantation of "Hoyo de Monterrey". It goes all the way back to 1865, when the Spaniard José Gener registered its trade mark.

Historically, the "Le Hoyo" line was associated with slimmer formats, featuring mostly small and medium ring gauges. But starting with the "Le Hoyo de San Juan", the cigars were enlarged to a more contemporary ring gauge. Continuing the approach to this day, the "Le Hoyo de Rio Seco" features a length of 140 mm and a ring of of 56 mm. The cigars are added Habano's range of products for the first time are thus falling squarely into the fashionable size range. Their production name is "Aromosos", already evoking the exceptional aroma of the blend. The larger volume gives the sweetness its due room and the exquisite tobaccos from San Juan y Martinez can show off their distict taste.

Like the "Le Hoyo de San Juan" before, the "Le Hoyo de Rio Seco" is presented in a new design. The newly designed cigar band shows its place among the "Le Hoyo" line of products. The cabinet boxes are adorned with signets bearing the line and brand name. Furthermore, the cigars are garbed in a silken band also bearing the name. They can thus be easily identified on the shelves.
