Oliva has a long tradition of growing tobacco and making premium cigars. The Oliva Serie V Melanio is a tribute to Senor Melanio Oliva, who started growing tobacco in Cuba in 1886.
For a long time, Oliva searched for the right blend worthy of bearing the family patriarch's name. After 5 years of development and by using a specially fermented Ligero filler, a cigar has been created that is second to none.
The Melanio (as well as the Oliva Serie V) is a medium-bodied blend that spreads an incredible intensity in the body and in the variety of aromas. The filler and binder are made from Nicaraguan Havana seed, with a large portion coming from the Jalapa region. The wrapper leaf from Ecuador was grown specifically for Oliva's Oliva V Melanio and only came into use after 5 years of aging.
The Melanio series is lightly boxpressed and strictly limited in production. It is available – in addition to the Petit Corona – in the formats Robusto, Torpedo, Churchill and Figurado.
