In January 2024, the Davidoff Winston Churchill "The Late Hour" series will be permanently expanded to include a Petit Panetela format.
Davidoff launched the medium filler as a limited edition back in 2020, which exceeded all expectations at the time. With the Petit Panetela, the Davidoff master blenders have mastered the challenge of creating a small-format medium-filler cigar with the complexity and balance typical of Davidoff, which is as multifaceted as the character of the great aficionado Winston Churchill.
The cigar offers a more intense and spicier flavour than its counterpart from "The Original Collection". This 10.2 cm x 1.5 cm Petit Panetela is wrapped in a beautiful, dark brown glossy wrapper leaf from Ecuador and comes in a practical and striking dark brown metal tin decorated with the legendary silhouette of the famous statesman.
The light draw of the Petit Panetela, due to its format, fills aficionados' time nicely for 15 to 20 minutes.
Flavour experience
As the smaller cigar contains a smaller amount of filler tobacco, the overall experience is somewhat lighter than that of the long-filler cigars in the range. At the beginning, pronounced notes of black coffee are complemented by leather and spices. The middle part of the cigar delights with a beautiful development of deep undertones of leather, which combine with dark chocolate and cream. This is where the Condega Visus filler tobacco, matured for 6 months in whisky barrels, fully unfolds and further enhances the sweetness and depth. In the grand finale of the Petit Panetela, intense notes of black pepper and oak combine with strong malt flavours.
