Davidoff Winston Churchill "The Late Hour": Deep and dark aromas light up the night
In view of the worldwide success of the Winston Churchill brand, Davidoff Cigars is launching a new edition of this cigar line: "The Late Hour". As with all cigars of this brand, the model is one of the most famous cigar lovers in history – Sir Winston Churchill – who had his most creative ideas at night over a glass of whiskey and a cigar.
To reflect these late hours this complex and full-bodied cigar was created, whose tobacco has been aged for an additional six months in casks of the finest Scotch single malt whiskey. The wrapper is a glossy and oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper in a rich dark chocolate hue. The two filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, grown in the mineral-rich volcanic soils of Condega and Estelí, give the cigar flavor and character.
In particular, the Condega Visus from Nicaragua, which matures for six months in original Scotch single malt whiskey casks, gives the cigar a pleasant sweetness and depth of taste. The two different Visus filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and the dark Mexican binder together create the complexity of this full-bodied blend. Distinct flavors and aromas indulge the palate with shifting notes of black pepper, dark coffee, sweetness, leather, wood and spice.
The cigar starts with fine sandalwood and leather aromas, delicate pepper and a light note of salt. It develops creamy smoke, subtle acidity, notes of coffee and chocolate as well as earthy aromas.
